Meet Zuora’s New India Country Manager & VP of Product Engineering

We’re excited to welcome Yudhvir Mor as Country Manager and Vice President of Product Engineering in India. Yudhvir joins Zuora with 2 decades of software engineering and product development experience, having played a pivotal role in building enterprise SaaS products at multi-billion dollar organizations including Genpact and Xerox.

He was most recently a Vice President at Genpact, a multi-billion dollar professional services and digital transformation firm, where he led and grew a 200+ strong product engineering team that helped build 10+ commercial offerings with more than 500 customer implementations. Prior to Genpact, Yudhvir held software engineering roles at Xerox and HP. At Xerox, he set up India’s software development team to build core billing capabilities to transform their managed print services business.

Welcome, Yudhvir! What drew you to Zuora? What are you most excited about?

Thanks! Excited to be a part of the team. Zuora certainly stood out as a leader in business transformation. The truth is, subscription business models and transforming from a traditional product-based approach, to a services-based approach, is the future. It’s something I’ve seen and lived first-hand throughout my career, and I wanted to be a part of a journey that was going to define enterprise software and bridge the difference between business-to-business and business-to-consumer models. I am very lucky to have been a part of a number of digital transformation journeys that tremendously helped companies to fully utilize the potential of digital products & data insights via an “as-a-service” business model.

I’m excited for the opportunity to work for an organization that is at the core of cutting edge business, and that is going to redefine the business landscape. I’m looking forward to participating in the exponential shift towards today’s growing Subscription Economy by building best-in-class products for the order-to-revenue process.

Tell us more about your roles at Genpact and Xerox, and the impact that it had for these multi-billion dollar organizations.

Of course. At Genpact, I led a team of more than 200 product engineers to drive more than 500 customer implementations. I was responsible for building enterprise products for order to cash, accounts payable, risk management and the company’s next generation Cora AI platform, by leveraging product engineering best practices, deep domain knowledge and expertise in hyperscalers platforms like Salesforce, AWS & Azure.

At Xerox, my role centered around driving success for the company’s transition from a traditional manufacturer to a printing services corporation. The biggest challenge of embarking on this journey was equipping sales teams and front end teams with the right tools and technology to help customers and build upon the customer experience. Starting from selling printers to selling printing as a service was an incredibly massive opportunity for Xerox, and it helped them embody a truly customer-centric mindset. The way they engaged with their customers defined the next steps in their transformation journey.

Tell us more about product engineering. What role does this org play in terms of becoming more customer centric?

Product engineering can be boiled down to creating software that can be scaled and used across a growing customer-base. It’s all about how we can provide reliable and flexible enterprise-grade software as a service to our customers.

This is absolutely critical in today’s day and age. Our customers want outcomes. They want ROI on their investments without making changes to their underlying systems. They want our software so they can meet their dynamic customer needs. Our goal is to provide best in class experiences throughout the order to revenue process.

At the end of the day, product engineering teams enable customers to focus on the core of their business, while we take care of all of the nuances of subscription billing and provide a layer of flexibility for them to grow with their customers.

What advice do you have for ZEOs to guide them on the journey to customer-centricity and innovation?

To quote Steve Jobs, “Stay hungry, stay foolish.” We need to learn every day and strive to learn new things.

What do you do in your free time?

I love mountains. I actually live in a part of India that is about 4-5 hours away from the Himalayas. As you can imagine, I do a lot of trekking and bike trips, two of my biggest hobbies. My latest adventure was a solo bike trip across Kashmir – I covered 1,000 miles in 2 weeks. Gurez Valley, located in North Kashmir, was the highlight of my trip.

I also spend quite a lot of time with my children, of course. I have an eleven-year-old son and an eight year old daughter. Our favorite things to do include playing sports – basketball, board games & cycling.
