Excerpts from an article by Kyle Campbell in the Daily News

Hyundai will make its signature Blue Link connectivity services available for three years free of cost on equipped 2018 vehicles as well as its 2017 Ioniq lineup.

Through this system, drivers can start their vehicles, control interior climate settings and get safety alerts through their smartphones, smart watches or Amazon Echo devices. Announced during the New York International Auto Show, the three-year Blue Link subscription will come with automatic, complimentary updates for mapping software, as well as remote controls for the rear defroster and heated side-view mirrors in the 2018 Elantra GT and Sonata.

Currently, Hyundai offers three-month trials of its Remote and Guidance packages and a year-long trial of its Connected Care package, which covers the collision notifications and vehicle diagnostics. All three can be renewed annually for $99 each, so offer all three for free adds a lot of value to Hyundai’s new vehicles.

Hyundai will roll out the new three-year coverage in the 2018 Santa Fe Sport, Elantra GT and Sonata.
